3 tips to navigating redundancy 👩🏽💻📆…
Share
Hi Girlies,
This has been written as somebody who was made redundant at 24 and took 8 months to find her next position. Not everybody's situation will be the same and at times this period can be quite stressful. Hopefully, the three tips below will help you make the most out of a tricky situation!
1. Establishing and achieving some daily non negotiable tasks
A regimented routine may or may not work depending on your situation and goals but having 2/3 things on your list that you need to complete by the end of the day will give you purpose. Particularly when the days can sometimes feel like they are merging together
2. Getting outside. Daily.
Whether it is 5 minutes stood outside your back door, a gym class or park run, it’s important to get fresh air whether you feel like it or not and interact in some way with another human who isn’t on a screen. Trust me - it will help your brain work better!
3.Making a list of the things you wish you had time to do but never do
This is a rare opportunity to tick things off your to do list and seize opportunities (however random they may be) as they present themselves.
I went to the opening of a pretzel shop to get a free pretzel at 11am on a Tuesday. Why not!
A positive is places are a lot quieter during the week in off peak hours!
A note from Em: I hope some of these tips help you in this period of uncertainty. You've got this!
Lots of Love
